Parade

Last year, Toronto’s 39th Annual Festival of India launched with a spectacular parade on July 16th at 11:00am which cruised down Yonge Street, beginning at Yonge & Bloor and making its way down to the lake. During the parade, three intricately detailed, 40-foot tall floats were hand-pulled by participants amidst energetic singing, drumming, and dancing, creating a wondrous, carnival-like atmosphere.

Parade participants and spectators are encouraged to join in the excitement again this year for the 40th Annual Festiva of India by singing and chanting along to the world-famous Hare Krishna mantra:

Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare;
Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare

This annual parade brings the splendour and tradition of ancient, spiritual India to Yonge Street, generating a vibe like no other summer event in the Greater Toronto Area.
